I lived in area 30G - 3 or 4 buildings with four lovely apts in each from 1967to 1970. I think they were off Schwarzvaldstrasse. Across the street was a DND bank and the special investigating unit - my dad worked there (SIU). Behind us was a grocery store with area 31. I was in 7B Ms. Bodnarus, 8H Mr. Laughlin and 9C - I think Mr. Parsons. This site has brought up a lot of memories that were buried deep lol. I shudder when I think of going to the discotec with some of the local german boys on the back of motorbikes with Lorraine Westergaard. What a shock when we moved to backwoods Petawawa! Joanne Pugh

Oh how I remember that Grocery store we lived in area 31 at the same time and I so remember the disco that we used to go to. I also went on the back of the german boys mopeds with my friend Weezy and my german friend Ziggy. Wow what a great memory

I was there from 1967-68. My family lived in one of the Schick buildings. I don't remember anyone ever referring to 'Areas' at anytime. I just called my Mom and she doesn't remember our living quarters being referred to as anything other than the Schick buildings.
So, I trying to find John Lane, and Brian McCann and Cathy Ball! We all lived in the same 'area'!

Hi,
I lived at 31-67-13 Schwartzwald Strasse in 68-70. I remember the Schick towers, used to babysit for a family that lived there. I was in grades 10-12, my sister Judy was also in highschool, grade 10, and my little brother Jaime was in grade school.

Not an easy name to forget, nor to live with back in the time.... before funk was funky and was only one letter off a word that good girls did not say.
I remerber the Hjartarson twins, I had contact with Lynn in Ottawa after I moved back to Canada.

Hi Kim,
You probably remember my little brother Jaime. I noted by your bio that you are 50, he was born in 1959 so you are roughly the same age. Judy and I were in high school and legaly able to consume alcohol.... thus the somewhat fuzzy memories. I don't think Judy or I had any notoriaty... although I was never one to not speak my mind.
For us suddenly-nouveau-adults of the '60s it was a confusing but exhilerating time.

Hi Jocelyn. I remember you and I love this line of yours. To this day its confusing and hard to explain to anyone who wasn't there. Did it even really happen at all? Sometimes its like a dream that fades with time. We didn't hang out, but I'm almost certain that we spoke and even more likely that we "hoisted a few" in the same gasthaus at one time or another (George's, Karls, Old Man's). I also lived in Area 31 and was a year back of you, in 11C in 69-70. Donna and Darlene Betts, Pierre Menard, Don Macaulay, Don Skalazub, Lori and Terri Duane ... some names I'm sure are familiar to you. I haven't been to this site in many months, but its nice to see a familiar face from ... good Lord, it's 40 years ago! Take care.

Hi Geoff,
In 1969 I was one of the many pregnant teenagers at the DND highschool. I would say it was a result of too much liberty and alcohol too fast, but I think it was just the "it'll never happen to me" syndrome. In 1970 I returned to Lahr, graduated grade 12, and married an airman (later divorced - long story). Talk about growing up too fast!!
Come to think of it, given where I am now, I wouldn't change a thing. We all lived the Chinese curse.. "may you live in interesting times"
