Maybe it was later. It was up langehard hill a bit, lots of red rocks, think it was one of the fountains maybe. Don't know was lots of years ago. Any way a bunch of us called it red rock, and we would go up at lunch time with booze we had snatched out of the house or bought in town and would indulge a bit. Think relegion was after lunch and more then once someone had to leave to throw up lol

Nope, doesn't ring a bell, but then again I was a little too young for that activity whilst in Lahr.
I do plan though, to hit the Red Rocks of Moab, Utah for some serious mountain biking in the near future. Maybe AFTER the cross-Canada ride.

Nope- you're thinking of the Grillplatz.. I think the sign was up for about a week before it was stolen- I know who took it down and I know who stole it from him.. I drank an entire bottle of Weidewasser that night- got so damn sick that I get nauseous just thinking of the stuff..
I wonder if Red Rock actually
is
the quarry- lots of red rocks there..

I do remember another place... Huge red cliffs on three sides. But not too many brats knew about it. Lots of german youths. got in a few scuffles there for crashing parties. it was about half way from area 11 where I lived towards the casern. Ring a Bell?

Was it by the natural spring where everyone used to bottle their own water?

i really can't remember now. that was so long ago. i did bump into someone in cfb borden about 20 years ago that knew what i was talking about as we were hanging out in germany at the same time. but i haven't had anyone to talk about this stuff in so long that its all a blur. since i've started reading some of the posts, a lot of things i had forgotten started coming back. like the stairs to the busses, seeing lss pictures on this board, talking about the town i lived in with kim i think it was, it all just came back in a flood. thank you so much for your memories and this site.

I'm thinking of the same place you are- Up the hill, south east of the caserne, crushed bunker nearby. Close enough that you could go there and back during lunch break at school.
